Missing.You

Hey there J

*Special note: I know you have a habit of scrolling down and looking at the photos first but this week you need to read from the start to the end. Consider it a challenge ;)

I loved the tour of your school, thankyou!!
The school “cafĂ©” as you call it (no canteen or tuck shop for your fancy school :P) looks incredibly posh. I especially love the photo of the lockers where someone appears to have their head stuck in one!!
Very clever idea J I would make you a similar one showing you around my uni but you’ve actually been there before and it is not anywhere near as interesting to look at. It’s basically a swamp with many trees and old brick buildings, filled with mosquitos. Just delightful.

Few updates of my week.
I bought some of the most beautiful roses i've ever seen

I started reading a good old book in the sunshine! Felt so great to get some good old vitamin D!

And I caught up with my favourite Dalmatian friends :)

So as you know, I’m back at uni and it is incredibly busy so aside from study I’ve obviously made plenty of time to procrastinate in several different ways. My favourite this week has been Haikus.
Have you ever written a Haiku before? I find a good haiku just as entertaining as a good joke.

I would LOVE you to write me a funny haiku. Actually, it doesn’t need to be funny, it can be about anything you want. Here are some of my embarrassingly tragic attempts;

I need to study
Or make it look like I am,
Really I’m asleep.

OR

Adventures are just
Precious memories of life
Look back on and smile

OR

Love when life happens,
It may seem dull but really,
The best parts are now

After writing these, the words in my head kept separate into syllables!

So now I’ve schmoozed you with my quirky hilarity, I should probably admit something to you.. About the challenge you set me..
Oopsies……! I say this because I didn’t complete it. Why you may ask? Eh, well I didn’t really feel like doing it alone so how about I set us both a challenge. Maybe this weekend you and I have to try some form of new drink. Would that be a little too challenging given the 1200ish kms between us?
Hmm… well, how about I come visit you?

IM COMING TO MELBOURNEEEEE.
Mum and I planned this almost a week ago now :D
You will be picking me up from the airport around 7ish (I think) tomorrow afternoon and I have Friday, Saturday and Sunday to spend with you!!!
I’M SO EXCITED!!!! Weeeeeeeeeeeee!!
(I’ve got a few things planned but feel free to think of some fun adventures for us too!)

Can’t wait to see your beautiful smiling face! The countdown is on! So go and get packed right now, because we will be staying in Melbourne all weekend J
Make sure you pack warm clothes as the forecast looks incredibly cold (I’m sure you’re use to the cold now anyway). Pack some nice-ish clothes for when we go out for dinner, and maybe pack the hair straighter!

Hope you have a great day at school tomorrow AND I WILL SEE YOU SOON!!!!

Love you, as always!

J xx

p.s: I’ve already started next weeks blog and I need you to get your brain thinking. I need to you start jotting down some things you do that could be considered slightly odd or even a bit quirky. Don’t post them in your blog next week, just hold on to the list for now.

School tour!

Hey Jordy,
Happy monday!- I bet you are so happy to be back at uni! :/

Firstly I was so happy that you succeeded in all of the challenges. I loved your furniture paintings But I was especially proud of you for buying a cupcake.  I have always known about your dislike of cupcakes but it has never really made sense to me, everyone likes cupcakes! I totally expected you to buy cheap and boring cupcakes, so I was really super happy when you went all out bought a super cool one, - I was a bit jealous of it!

My favourite part of your blog this week was by far your rant.  You are so clever and I agree with everything you said. I am guilty of everything you said, prior to last week I had no idea how many wars were going on. I had no idea how much violence and death was going on in the world and I honestly never really gave it much thought.  It was not until the plane crashed that I thought about it!

Ok, now for my blogpost! I wasn't sure if this post was ready but i have decided to post it anyway!
I really wanted to show you around my school. My school is very big. Some of it is lovely and some of it is AWFUL! There are a lot of bits in my school that are very messy and many bits that are consumed by construction zones. But today I have decided not to share that with you, today I just wanted to show you the nice bits.

So, welcome to my school! xxx

This is where you drop me off in the morning! (look you can see dad driving away, haha)
I walk through the car park. (look that is actually my english classroom which is located in the car-park)
I walk down this path way.

Then this pathway
Then through this courtyard

Through this little hallway

Down this little corridor. (i really love this spot, it has heaps of flags strung up against the ceiling. i think it is really fancy and nice)
Then I have finally made it to my locker!

After I have been to my locker and collected my books I go to my tutor classroom. Each morning we mark the role in this room before we go to our first classes of the day,

There are some chickens that live in my school. Everyday they are wondering around and making mischief! - I don't really like them! hahaha

These are the Japenese gardens. I love these gardens. they are full of little statues and water fountains. Sadly this area is out of bounds of students except for during photography classes. But they truly are beautiful, especially when all of the roses start to bloom.

This is one of the many figures that stand in my school. There is also a mermaid, an Egyptian, the Japenese founders of the school and many more figures that I can't remember of the top of my head.

This ballerina statue stands next to the dance studios.
These are what the dance studios look like on the inside, but I have never been in there.

This is my favourite building the the whole school. It is really old and beautiful. one of the top windows on the left used to be my Psychology class, I used to love staring out the window because I felt like I could see the whole of the Geelong. From this window I can see thousands of houses and I can even see the water.
This is a field. I have never been on it, Surprise, surprise! hahaha
This is the cafe. whilst I love that I can come here and buy all sorts of unhealthy food, I hate that I can't use cash! it is such a pain to have to line up to put money on your student card and then have to line up all over again to purchase food.
This is a little sitting area. I have only ever seen this area being used once, I really like it! I know this is silly but it kinda reminds me of the place that you would sit at the zoo when you are going to watch a bird show or something like that.
This is the one building that you are probably familiar with. Every time you drive past the school you see this massive building!
When we have a school assembly the katsumata centre looks like this.
But afterwards it transforms into this!
A gym can also be found in the Katsumata centre, but I think that it is only used by the schools competitive sporting teams.

This photo isn't really of anything specific, but notice that on the bottom left side there is a road that runs through my school.
This is my very last photo. It just shows a small amount of the landscape within my school!

So Jord, thank you for reading my blog. I hope It helps you to visualise my school and puts an image to the stories that I tell you. Most of the photos I took myself with my phone or in photography class but a few of them were from the internet.

P.s I also just quickly wanted to give you another challenge. This week you have to...
Try a new type of coffee or drink. I'm sure that you will be drinking lots of caffeine now that UNI is back so i think you should try something new!- The more interesting the better.
feel free to give me a challenge, nothing to tricky!

Love you, can't wait to hear from you on thursday! xxx

Better.Week.Indeed!

Morning sunshine J

Yes it has been the better week we had both hoped for thank goodness!

This is my last week of uni holidays before a crazyyyyyy semester so I’ve been super productive, trying to do as much as I can to both enjoy the holidays and get ORGANISED so I can SMASH this semester!

How did you go with your list that you wanted to achieve? I wouldn’t be surprised if you failed on point #5: No homework after 8.30pm :P

I’m pretty happy with what I achieved this week.
This was the list I posted last week:
  •        Signing up to new gym: CHECK (I’ve even gone…once, ha!)
  •      Complete barista course: HALF CHECK (I’ve booked it in)
  •      Get ready for uni: CHECK
  •      Job hunting: HALF CHECK (getting there..ish)
  •      Creative with blog: Well.. I started a second blog!  >> http://jordans100daysofhappiness.blogspot.com.au

This is the list you gave me:

  •        Something I love: Well let me just say, this is a difficult and a very broad category. I'll keep thinking about this one
  •      Try something new: CHECK

I got a little creative with Simone and revamped some old draws. I loved the 2 colours of Annie Sloan chalk paint and thought their names were equally as cute; Barcelona and Florence. I love that you can’t mess up with the paints, whatever you do looks like it was deliberate and it just made me feel so arty and clever, hahahaha!

  •         Eat a cupcake: CHECK

I was surprised by your cupcake request. I thought you would know that I’m not the biggest fan of cupcakes! I feel like cupcakes are always pretty disappointing and if they are actually delicious, the sheer size of them is just disappointing..
But because it was your request, I did take the time to browse some delicious looking stores.. and I managed to find the creme dela creme of all cupcakes. Euro Patisserie sells caramel mud cupcakes topped with a little daisy decorating, I REPEAT, caramel mud cupcake!!!! Although it was tiny, it was delicious and I found myself silently thanking you for this challenge. I’ll have to take you to get one next time you visit. P.s: I refuse to put it on Instagram though, sorrynotsorry.

**Please ignore the overgrown fringe! It has since been trimmed.

So where to go with this blog?, good question. Lets just do whatever WE want. We will figure it out as we go.

I caught up with a friend yesterday and we went to this really beautiful lookout. I’ll definitely need to show you next time you visit me, but preferably when it’s a little warmer! How flipping beautiful is this view???!

Okay so I know what I want to talk about this week and I know this is something that may not be interesting to a lot of people, or people just get sick of hearing others opinions but I am going to have a little rant so feel free to ignore this bit Ab, I just feel like expressing my views! I doubt I will do a post like this again, it’s just what my mind is stewing on at the moment.

I saw this post the other day and it really made me think about all of the terror that is going on around the world right now.

Why was this plane more important than the 330 plus people that were killed in Gaza the other day? It constantly shocks me, how the general public seem to be drawn to particular stories or tragedies but appear to be completely unaffected by others which can be equally as horrific. I think the main reason for this is due to how relatable the media makes the story to its audience. For example, most of the stories i’ve seen or read focus on the children that were on the plane and the devastation its created for those left behind. This hits home for the audience and it creates an element of relatability (is that a word?? I don’t think so but oh well) and realness to some extent. The horrific realities that are going on all over the world aren’t presented in a relatable way, instead just the basic facts and minimal emotive language is given, for example “100 innocent civilians were killed today” followed by “There was a devastating house fire in Victoria”.

I just get a bit frustrated how people focus on one tragedy and seem to dismiss all others because they seem to only have enough emotional capacity for the one. Maybe this isn’t the reason at all, it could be a million different reasons and it’s not my place to judge. Okay, leave it there, Jordan.

AND BREATH

Just a quick note, thank you so much for that care package. It was insanely generous and it just shows how well you know me and how loving and generous you are :) I've been using everything this week and it really helped me focus on my positive perspective for the week so thank you so much. (SIDENOTE: I put a picture of this on Instagram, so i figured that evened out for not posting the cupcake. My instagram is JORDANELIZABETH1313)

Love you Ab J Sorry if this bored the heck out of you. You’ve got complete creative freedom for your next post and I can’t wait to see it.

Love you lots, as always!

Jordan xx
